Minister Urges Alignment of Social and Environmental Fund with National Priorities to Maintain Transparency, accountability and Efficiency.

Phnom Penh, October 4, 2023 – H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, the Minister of Environment, delivered a compelling message during a recent meeting that emphasized the importance of aligning the Environmental Fund’s budget with the highest-priority initiatives of the Ministry. He stressed, “integrating these factors is pivotal for achieving success in alignment with the the Pentagon strategy”.

Members of the Secretariat of the Environmental and Social Fund Committee were present at this meeting. During this discussion, Minister Sophalleth shed light on the government’s commitment to reshaping the course of the Environmental and Social fund.

Environmental conservation holds global significance, and progress in this arena can be expedited through careful allocation of funds, particularly within environmental and social funds. Allocating funds to targeted priorities ultimately helps create transparency and efficiency.
